3,667. Converting During Shearing

Hilchos Bikkurim 10:11

Let’s say that there are two different types of shearings, such as white wool and brown wool, wool from males and from females, or if the person sold one species but kept the other species. The buyer gives first shearings on what he bought and the seller gives first shearings on what he kept.

Hilchos Bikkurim 10:12

Let’s say that a convert converts. He has sheep that are being sheared but we don’t know if they were sheared before or after he converted. In such a case he need not give first shearings because the burden of proof is on the one who wants to take property from another person. (I.e., in this case, the kohein must prove that the convert must give the wool.)
