3,668. How Many Sheep Make a Flock?

Hilchos Bikkurim 10:13

For a flock to be obligated in first shearings, there must be at least five sheep producing at least 60 sela of wool combined [about 2.5 lbs.] and not less than twelve sela of wool each. If one sheep produced less than twelve sela of wool, the flock is exempt from first shearings even if the combined wool of the five sheep exceeds 60 sela.

Hilchos Bikkurim 10:14

Partners are obligated in first shearings so long as each one’s share reaches the minimum measure described in the previous halacha. If the two partners own only five sheep between them, first shearings need not be given.
