Hilchos Shemittah v’Yoveil 4:21
Let’s say that an onion was uprooted during shemittah and replanted in the eighth year, with the result that it grows beyond its original size. The growth raises the original onion, rendering the whole thing permitted. The reason is because the prohibition of shemittah is brought about through the ground; it can therefore be removed through the ground.
Hilchos Shemittah v’Yoveil 4:22
During shemittah, tree fruit may not be harvested the same way that it is in other years. Leviticus 25:5 teaches: “You shall not gather the grapes of your undressed vine.” One who harvests grapes in order to improve the vine or in the regular fashion is liable to the penalty of lashes.
