Hilchos Shemittah v’Yoveil 5:1

Shemittah produce is given for eating, drinking, anointing, lighting lamps and dyeing. Our oral tradition teaches that the word tihiyeh (“it will be” – Lev. 25:7) comes to include lighting lamps and dyeing.

Eating and drinking means that one may eat the foods that are normally eaten and drink the beverages that are normally drunk, the same as with terumah and second tithe.
